Professional Interests

Dr. Stevenson has spent his career since 1989 directing infection control and antimicrobial stewardship programs with specific research interests in controlling the development, acquisition, and spread of antimicrobial resistant bacterial pathogens in the healthcare setting. This research has spanned the acute and long term care settings, rural hospitals, and some ambulatory care settings, such as dialysis units. 

He is also interested in clinical epidemiology, performance improvement, and health services research as they interface with antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention. He has been the Medical Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at OSUWMC since 2005.
