The mission of the OSU-CVM Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) is to optimize patient care while minimizing unintended consequences of antimicrobial use, including the emergence of resistant organisms associated with high patient morbidity and mortality. The ASP promotes the OSU Veterinary Medical Center's mission of providing the highest level of professional veterinary care to its patients and clients by ensuring that antimicrobial therapy is administered to patients with clinically appropriate agents, doses, and duration.
