Dixie Mollenkopf, PhD
Epidemiologist, Head of Surveillance
Professional Interests
My research engages both laboratory methods and field studies to explain the epidemiology of β-lactam resistance in Enterbacteriales. I am interested primarily in the dissemination, or potential dissemination, of plasmid-mediated carbapenemase genes in food animal populations and across the food chain. In addition to my current research, I am also engaged in the CVM Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP), responsible for coordinating monthly environmental active surveillance within our veterinary hospitals
